From 2024, every student needs to meet a literacy co-requisite - reading and writing - alongside the numeracy co-requisite, to be awarded any level of NCEA. It catches out more students than most families expect.
We prepare students specifically for it, so a single assessment never stands between them and the qualification they have earned everywhere else.

- What is NCEA Literacy?
- NCEA Literacy covers reading, writing, and speaking and listening, assessed within NCEA, New Zealand's main secondary school qualification. It runs across Level 1 (usually Year 11), Level 2 (Year 12) and Level 3 (Year 13), with a mix of internal and external assessments.
- What is the NCEA literacy co-requisite?
- From 2024 all students must meet a literacy co-requisite (reading and writing) alongside the numeracy co-requisite, to be awarded any level of NCEA. Impact Tutoring offers focused literacy preparation so students meet it with confidence.
- Do you help with NCEA Level 1, 2 and 3 Literacy?
- Yes. We tutor NCEA Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Literacy, including reading, writing and oral and visual text. Support is available one to one in person at a local Hub, or online anywhere in New Zealand.
- Can NCEA Literacy tutoring be done online?
- Yes. Alongside our in-person Hubs, we tutor NCEA Literacy online across New Zealand, so students anywhere can work with a tutor who suits them.
