I’m Kaeden Cresswell,  I’ve always had a passion for Mathematics and am keen to help others succeed.  

I have had great academic success over the last few years at Te Awamutu College, being presented the Bouma Trophy for Academic Excellence, Top Year 11 Student in 2021.  

I’ve also had success in Mathematics, being presented the Paul Corboy Cup for first in subject in NCEA Level 2 Mathematics & Statistics with Calculus last year. 

 In 2020, I was presented the Paul Hobbs Cup for first in subject in NCEA Level 1 Mathematics & Statistics Extension, both awards being received a year in advance.  I’m also very interested in and have had success in Science, particularly in Physics, Chemistry and Earth and Space Science.  I hope that my academic interests will help me to achieve a lifetime goal, to become a meteorologist.

I also enjoy trail running, hiking and golf.  My most recent trail run was the 22km Waitomo Trail Run, which I completed in November 2020, in 3h21m.  A highlight in 2021 was hiking the Tongariro Crossing in with my family.  I’m also a member at both Te Awamutu and Stewart Alexander Golf Clubs, currently playing at about a 40 handicap!

I feel it is important to believe in yourself.  I always show respect for others and accept that different people will have different views and ways of thinking about things.  I believe that if we, the tutor and student, respect and understand each other, especially for who we are, we will travel further together in our Mathematics journeys.  Also, I believe it’s important to never give up, because I think that the best way to succeed in something is to have a go, overcome any obstacles in the way, and learn from past experiences.  This is important to me, as I’m keen to learn new things and look forward to developing my Mathematics tutoring skills as I work with different students.
